CCCSAA Professional Development Conference 2022
Thursday, June 2, 2022 (9:30 AM - 1:00 PM) (PDT)
The California Community College Student Affairs Association (CCCSAA) and American Student Association of Community Colleges (ASACC) bring you the ASACC Advisor Certification for the 2022 CCCSAA Professional Development Conference. CCCSAA PDC 2022 will be hosted every Thursday beginning June 2-23, 2022 from 9AM-1PM. This event will be easily accessible via Zoom.
All eligible recipients for all certification levels must be 21 years of age or older. Participants must fully attend all 4 sessions to receive the certification.
Levels of Certifications
There are three levels of Advisor Certification with varying number of courses. Each course requires a minimum of two hours and ten minutes of seat time (the equivalent of 2.5 hours of clock time) with 50 minutes equated to one hour. The requirements for levels I and II each include the satisfactory completion of a total of fifteen (15) clock hours. Six required courses must be completed for Certified Advisor I. Six additional courses are required and must be completed for Certified Advisor II.
The requirements for Master Advisor include all of the Advisor I and II requirements plus an additional eight (8) courses, plus the teaching of two (2) Advisor courses or four (4) student courses, must be completed to be certified as a Master Advisor. Courses taught do not necessarily need to be taught at only ASACC conferences. Other presentations will be considered on a case by case basis for awarding credit for this requirement.
- The Certified Advisor I requires that participants hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience at an accredited institution and be currently employed in a position that includes responsibility for involvement in an advisement role at an accredited institution.
- The Certified Advisor II requires that participants have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience and a minimum of two years of student advising experience and currently hold an advisement role at an accredited educational institution.
- The Master Advisor certification requires that participants hold a minimum of a Master’s degree (or the equivalent in professional experience), have a minimum of five (5) years of student advising experience and be currently involved in a profession that includes responsibility for or activity in an advisement role at an accredited institution.
If participants request any reasonable accommodations, the request must be submitted by Friday May 6, 2021, to ensure accommodations are met. CCCSAA may not be able to accommodate requests after said deadline.
WiFi and Technology
Each participant must have suitable wifi and technology needs to complete this online course. All sessions will be held via a secure zoom platform and participants must have working webcam, microphone, and stable internet connection to be successful.
